January 31, 2018: PVFT is entering mediation with the district on our contract negotiations that began December 7, 2016. The Public Employees Relations Board (PERB) agreed to PVFT’s declaration of Impasse in December. We remain committed to reaching a fair contract agreement through the state mediation process.
To come to this conclusion, PERB reviewed details such as the number of negotiating sessions we have had, how many hours spent negotiating, and what we have accomplished during that time. We have been assigned a state appointed mediator and have our first mediation session set for January 31st. PVFT is currently focused on reaching a fair contract agreement through the state mediation process.
